Baker Mayfield is getting ready to make his first-career NFL start this afternoon, as the Cleveland Browns are taking on the Oakland Raiders. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft will attempt to lead the Browns to their first Sunday win in a long time.

The former Oklahoma football star got an interesting letter before today's game. Former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel wrote Mayfield a letter.

Here's the full letter, from ESPN:

"Dear Baker, if there's one thing you already know, one thing that everybody already knows, you and I are not the same person. No matter how many people try to compare us, even before the same team drafted us, we know we are never fully defined by the way we play, or the uniform we wear.

What I do know is this: life's experiences are the best teachers. Through all the good days you'll encounter over your career there, you'll undoubtedly face some tough ones as well. Through all the good and the bad, stay close to your family, and more so, continue to be you. That's what's taken you from a walk-on to a Heisman trophy winner to a first-round draft pick.

Beyond all that, Baker, I simply want to wish you all the success that you deserve. I hope you don't take a single day, a single snap, for granted. I hope you own the moment, and give the Browns fans every bit of happiness that they deserve.

Your friend, Johnny Manziel."

OK then.

The Manziel era didn't go very well. The Browns are hoping Mayfield's tenure under center is significantly better.

It starts today, when Mayfield makes his first start. ESPN isn't predicting much, unfortunately.

ESPN's Football Power Index is giving the Browns just a 34.3 percent chance of winning today's game against the Raiders. The Worldwide Leader doesn't expect Mayfield and Co. to notch a win on the road against Jon Gruden.

Will ESPN be wrong? We'll find out shortly.

The Browns and the Raiders are set to kick off at 4:05 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised on FOX.
