The Baker Mayfield Era has begun for the Cleveland Browns. Well, at least for a significant portion of the first preseason game.
Tyrod Taylor started the game for Cleveland and threw a touchdown pass. Baker is in now though, and he has done some good things.
His first completion was a nice toss down the right sideline to Rashard Higgins for 26 yards and a first down.
Check it out.

Later in the drive, Baker converted a third-and-18 with a 21-yard pass to C.J. Board. He also scrambled for the first down on a third-and-6 and a fourth-and-2.
The Browns are understandably going to be cautious with Mayfield this season. Taylor is the expected starter.
Still, he has looked comfortable thus far in his first NFL action. He’ll get a lot of time to get his feet wet during the rest of the preseason.
After that, the question will be if he can do it in a real game.
