Barstool Sports and Fox Sports were reportedly in talks about a late-night show.

In a feature on Barstool Sports for Forbes, Mark J. Burns revealed some interesting news regarding the growth of the ever-expanding digital media company. Apparently, Barstool is reportedly angling for a late-night tv show, and FS1 was reportedly interested in giving them the 11 p.m. time slot.

Per Forbes:

Multiple sources have told Forbes that in 2017, Barstool has been shopping around a late-night show, with conversations including at least FOX Sports. Sources didn’t know if the discussions are still active or if they’ve died off for now.

When asked about where the brand conversation currently stood for linear, [Barstool CEO Erika Nardini] declined to comment but did say, “We’re interested in having a linear show. I think a question for us is which one of our brands should be a linear show.

“We have a ton of aspiration around radio, social and on television. I think you’ll see us explore all three of those things going forward.”

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy also told Forbes that Barstool is “poised finally to start doing some major distribution and major content relationships.”

Could a Barstool Sports show on FS1 be in the cards?

It's certainly possible. FS1 has struggled mightily with ratings, and Barstool has a large and loyal following and a huge presence on social media. It might be a great match for both parties.
