Best-Selling Author Says Mike Lupica Made Rude, Sexist Comments To Her When They Met

A best-selling author has alleged that longtime New York Daily News sports columnist Mike Lupica made rude and sexist remarks to her when they met several years ago.

Shannon Hale said she and Lupica met when she was emceeing an author event. A joke she made fell flat, and she then says Lupica went on a mini-rant during which he said there shouldn't be women in publishing.

Yikes. Not a great look from Lupica. Even if he was annoyed at Hale saying she heard he was a diva, he probably should have handled it better.

Among other men in sports media, Lupica also has a reputation for being a jerk. If true, this story doesn't help his case.
