Videos: Blimp Catches Fire, Crashes At US Open

A blimp caught fire and crashed at the US Open on Thursday. At least one person inside appears to have parachuted out.

A blimp at the US Open appears to have caught fire and crashed early Thursday afternoon.

Fans and media in attendance have posted a number of photos and videos which depict a man parachuting out of the aircraft to safety. A cloud of black smoke appears to be visible in the distance.

The first round of the event began on Thursday morning.

It's unclear how many people were in the blimp and how many parachuted to safety. It's also unclear how the accident occurred. More as we learn it.
