Former ESPN reporter Britt McHenry has taken to Instagram in recent weeks to reveal her new relationship. The self-described "host, reporter & conservative commentator" is dating a controversial professional athlete.

McHenry appears to be together with professional tennis player Tennys Sandgren, a former University of Tennessee standout who faced scrutiny in January for some controversial tweets.

Sandgren, 26, was criticized for retweeting some apparent "alt-right" tweets along with following some apparent "alt-right" leaders. He ended up deleting the majority of his tweets. Sandgren also criticized the media and others for judging him based on a handful of social media actions.

Serena Williams then tweeted at him, saying he should have apologized.

McHenry, who's appeared on Fox News and has grown as a political commenter since leaving ESPN, first posted a photo with Sandgren a couple of weeks ago. "Cheering for you is easy," she wrote, "even if the French Open refuses to sell beer."

McHenry then posted another photo on Sunday. "Puts up with me in between tournaments. I vote GOP Conventions & wine tours," she wrote.

Sandgren is currently the 57th-ranked player in the world by the ATP rankings. He's expected to play at Wimbledon at the end of the month.
