The Browns, Bud Light Announced Some Major News This Morning

The Cleveland Browns didn't win a game last season, so if or when they win their first contest in 2018, there is going to be quite a celebration among the team's fans. Tuesday, the Browns and Bud Light announced a promotion that will be sure to add a little excitement to the whole concept.

If/when the Browns win their first game this season, Bud Light will be giving away free beer in a number of Cleveland-area bars. How? There is a fridge that will "unlock" when the Browns finally win a game. It'll be hooked up to Wi-Fi, and when the Browns win, Bud Light will simultaneously unlock all of them at once.

ESPN's Darren Rovell has a photo of what the fridges look like. They have a big lock across them to signify that the beer inside is not available just yet.

Rovell also has more on the promotion, which is pretty genius:

Anheuser-Busch, whose Bud Light brand is the official beer of the NFL and 28 of its 32 teams, including the Browns, on Tuesday will begin placing eight-foot "Victory" fridges filled with Bud Light bottles into 10 Cleveland-area bars that purchased them.

When the clock strikes zero on the Browns' first win -- their last win was in Week 16 of the 2016 season against the San Diego Chargers -- the electromagnet that keeps the fridges locked will be turned off through a WiFi connection, opening all of them for fans to enjoy free of charge.

Cleveland didn't win a game a year ago, but the team's roster is greatly improved in 2018. The Browns now have Tyrod Taylor, a proven NFL starter, and Baker Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick, at quarterback.

You never know in Cleveland - the Browns have been the worst NFL franchise for nearly two decades now. But they should win at least one game, right?
