Jameis Winston was set to become the quarterback of the future for the Buccaneers, but his production this season has generated more questions than answers. With journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick playing fairly well this year, head coach Dirk Koetter has a tough decision to make.
Yesterday, Winston was abysmal against the Cincinnati Bengals, throwing four interceptions.
The Bucs tried to spark their offense by replacing him with Fitzpatrick. In limited action, he threw for 194 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, which sparked an amazing comeback that just fell short in the closing seconds of the game.
NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero broke the news of Koetter's decision, as Tampa Bay will roll with Fitzpatrick for this Sunday.
It won't get any easier for the Buccaneers, as they face the Carolina Panthers on the road.
Fitzpatrick will be the starting quarterback this upcoming weekend, but that change isn't permanent for Tampa Bay.
From issues off the field to struggling on the gridiron, Winston's tenure in Tampa Bay hasn't been ideal.
