BYU football honored two late Spartans ahead of its game in East Lansing on Saturday.
BYU football honored both Mylan Hicks and Mike Sadler before its game at Michigan State on Saturday by laying roses on both the 3-yard-line and the 6-yard-line (to note their numbers) in East Lansing.
Hicks played for Michigan State from 2010-2014 and was playing in the CFL with the Calgary Stampede. Per CBC News, Hicks was reportedly shot outside of a night club in Calgary on Sept. 25 and later passed away in the hospital due to his injuries.
Sadler, who was a Spartans punter, passed away on July 23 in a car accident. Nebraska punter Sam Foltz also died in the car crash that occurred earlier this year.
Hicks had 27 tackles in 32 career games for the Spartans and earned a degree in psychology. Sadler graduated with a major in applied engineering sciences in 2013 and was working toward his mater's degree in public policy per the Spartans official website.
BYU and Michigan State will kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday and can be seen on ABC/ESPN 2.
