Earlier this week it was reported that Carson Wentz suffered a fracture in his back, yet the star quarterback still wasn’t declared out for this Sunday. With the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Los Angeles Rams on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, it would help if the defending champions had their leader under center.
Well, it is now confirmed that the Eagles will have to go back to Nick Foles at quarterback for at least this weekend.
After missing practice throughout the week, many people speculated that Wentz could miss the remainder of the season. Although that is still up in the air, the former first-round pick’s status for this weekend is now official.
Philadelphia will be without Wentz on Sunday, as ESPN insider Adam Schefter broke the news.

Wentz has 3,074 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 11 games.
If the Eagles eventually get eliminated from playoff contention, it would make sense for them to shut down Wentz for the rest of the season. The young gunslinger has flashed unreal potential over the past two seasons, but injuries have cost him time on the gridiron.
Now it will be up to Foles to lead the Eagles to another miraculous comeback.
