Report: The Cavs Have "Inquired" About Kawhi Leonard

The San Antonio Spurs are receiving plenty of phone calls about the status of All-NBA forward Kawhi Leonard, who's reportedly requested to be moved elsewhere. The Lakers are his preferred destination, but San Antonio could be unwilling to ship him to a rival.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, who remain intent on upgrading their roster in pursuit of LeBron James, are reportedly one of the teams that have made a call to San Antonio.

The Cavs have "inquired" about Leonard, according to ESPN.

"Cleveland has inquired about Leonard, sources said, but the Cavaliers probably don't have the assets to top the rest of the market," ESPN reported today.

ESPN had previously reported that Cleveland's offer was centered on Kevin Love and the No. 8 overall pick, which is now Collin Sexton.

From ESPN.com:

Some of those suitors know they don’t have enough: The Cavs peddling Kevin Love and the No. 8 pick, the Grizzlies with No. 4 and Chandler Parsons, the Clippers with Tobias Harris and Nos. 12 and 13.

A Cavs' offer for Leonard now would likely be a similar package with Love and either Sexton or some future picks (or maybe both).

But, it doesn't appear that Cleveland has enough to get anything done.

The Cavs, though, are still exploring options for other top-level players. Kemba Walker, among others, has been linked to Cleveland. We'll see if the Cavs can get anything done in the coming days to increase their chances of getting LeBron back.
