This past weekend was filled with chaos, which was highlighted by Purdue defeating Ohio State in blowout fashion. With another week of great college football matchups on the horizon, the the top 25 is starting to take shape.
It's hard to argue against Alabama having the top spot in any list, especially considering the way it dismantles its opponents. As for the rest of the field, it's completely up for grabs.
Every week, CBS Sports makes their own power rankings based off the results from the weekend.
Here's this week's top 25:
- Alabama
- LSU
- Clemson
- Notre Dame
- Texas
- UCF
- Oklahoma
- Michigan
- Florida
- Georgia
- Ohio State
- Kentucky
- West Virginia
- Washington State
- Washington
- Oregon
- South Florida
- Miami (FL)
- Texas A&M
- Iowa
- Utah
- Texas Tech
- Houston
- UAB
- Utah State
Several selections on this list will raise an eyebrow, in particular the decision to put UAB and Utah State into the top 25. Although both programs deserve recognition, it's still quite surprising to see them ranked with the likes of Notre Dame, Texas and other storied programs.
The biggest riser on CBS Sports' power rankings was Washington State, following its victory over Oregon at home. As for the largest drop, the Buckeyes fell dramatically after their shocking loss.
Do you believe this top 25 is an accurate depiction of college football's best teams?
