The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly interested in a trade for New York Giants cornerback James Bradberry, per NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
The organization has been on the hunt for a new star corner since the departure of Charvarius Ward in free agency this offseason.
"Chiefs are in the market for a corner, they have displayed interest in veteran free agent Stephon Gilmore, who has also been of interest to Raiders, and potential trade for Giants'James Bradberry, according to a league source. Chiefs, several NFL teams interested in Bradberry," Wilson writes.
After starting his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers from 2016-19, Bradberry made his way to the New York Giants in 2020. In the first season with his new team, the veteran corner notched his first Pro-Bowl appearance. This past season, he logged four interceptions, 17 passes defended and 47 tackles.
Bradberry is under contract with the Giants through the 2022 campaign. He's scheduled to make $21.86 million this coming season.
According to Wilson, the Chiefs are one of several teams interested in Bradberry. They're also reportedly interested in acquiring veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
As of right now, the Kansas City defense is slated to roll out Rashad Fenton and L'Jarius Sneed at the starting corner positions.
