Louisville's men's basketball program has yet to hire a head coach. Here's the latest on the Cardinals' search.

Chris Mack is reportedly target 1A for Louisville. The Xavier head coach was reportedly set to meet with the program over the weekend.

Has a hire been made?

Officially - no.

However, a new report says one of Mack's assistant coaches at Xavier has told the family of a recruit that he's now recruiting for Louisville, making it seem like a hire has been made.

Kent Taylor first reported this news.

Mack to Louisville would not come as a surprise. It's what most people in the college basketball world are expecting. Mack has reportedly told people close to him that Louisville is one of the jobs he would leave for.

The Cardinals, though, also reportedly asked for permission to speak with Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne.

It feels like this situation will get wrapped up sometime this week. Stay tuned.
