Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced tonight an injury update for his starting quarterback, Alan Bowman.

Bowman, a freshman starter, left Saturday's loss against West Virginia with an apparent injury.

Kingsbury announced this evening that Bowman had suffered a "partially collapsed lung."

A timetable for his potential return to the field has not yet been set.

Bowman, a 6-foot-3 quarterback, has thrown for more than 1,600 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this season. He took some brutal hits on Saturday.

Texas Tech is 3-2 on the season.
