The No. 2 overall recruit in the 2019 class has announced his college commitment.
Vernon Carey, a five-star center out of Florida, announced live on ESPN his commitment to the Duke Blue Devils.
“After a lot of consideration I’ll be attending the Brotherhood,” Carey said on SportsCenter.
The elite big man chose Duke over Michigan State and North Carolina, among other programs.

Carey is a 6-foot-10, 275-pound center. He’s considered a top prospect for the 2020 NBA Draft and should be a big contributor for the Blue Devils in 2019-20.
Duke is expected to lose its three star freshmen to the NBA following this season.
