Danilo Gallinari Broke His Hand When He Punched An Opponent

The Clippers' prized free agent has suffered an injury already.

The Los Angeles Clippers' prized free agent acquisition is already damaged.

Danilo Gallinari, who signed a three-year, $63 million contract with the franchise earlier this summer, punched an opponent during an international exhibition game with Italy.

The 28-year-old forward had to be taken to the hospital to get his hand evaluated. According to a report, it's fractured.

This was the punch:

It's unclear if Gallinari's reportedly fractured hand will force him to miss any games during the NBA's 2017-18 season. If he does, it'll mark the second time in three seasons that a Clippers' player has missed time after punching someone. Blake Griffin missed significant time during the 2015-16 season after punching an equipment manager.

Update: ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Gallinari is expected to be good to go by training camp.
