We're less than 12 hours away from the start of the 2018 NBA Draft. There's a lot of speculation about what's going to happen in this year's draft, but there is little doubt when it comes to the No. 1 overall pick. It's going to be Deandre Ayton.
Ayton, the former Arizona Wildcats standout big man, is going to go No. 1 overall to the Phoenix Suns. The franchise has all but assured that he will be the pick and Ayton told reporters at his press conference that he's definitely going No. 1.
It's been a big week for Ayton, who earlier announced that he had signed a shoe contract with Puma. He's one of a couple of major NBA Draft prospects signing with the upstart basketball brand.
"Puma is pretty popular in the Bahamas," Ayton told reporters. "I've always seen the brand growing up. [Bolt] is one of the first people I saw with the brand. It's important to me that someone I identify with and admire as an athlete is with the same brand."
Ayton will be at the NBA Draft in Brooklyn. He'll be joined by his family and his girlfriend.
The former Arizona Wildcats star is dating Anissa Evans. The couple has been together for a while.
"I’m so thankful to have you in my life," Ayton said about Evans on Instagram.

Good for Deandre. He's about to have the biggest night of his life.
The 2018 NBA Draft is set to begin in about 8 hours. It's set to tip off shortly after 7 p.m. E.T. It will be televised on ESPN.
There had been some talk of Phoenix potentially trading the pick, but they are reportedly fully set on taking Ayton.
"The only real scenario he considered trading out of No. 1 was if he could get an established young star in the NBA,"Adrian Wojnarowski said on ESPN. "None really became available. They haven't had any substantive conversations on trading out of No. 1. They're focused on selecting Ayton."
