We've had our first major stunner of the free agency period. DeMarcus Cousins will suit up for the Golden State Warriors next season.

In what might be the ultimate example of the rich getting richer, Cousins has agreed to a contract with Golden State, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Cousins on pace for another All-Star season before he tore his Achilles in January. Now, he'll suit up for the best team in the NBA.

After LeBron James announced his decision on Sunday, many expected Cousins was headed to LA. In fact, even before James had revealed he was headed to LA, The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor reported that he was interested in playing with Cousins, even after his injury.

In January 2017, James called Boogie, "the best big man in our game." LeBron's praise of Cousins came before the New Orleans big man had suffered a major injury, but sources say he remains interested by the idea of playing with Boogie.

However, just before the news of his signing broke, Cousins' manager Andrew Rogers teased a major move on Twitter.

This certainly qualifies as a huge surprise. Golden State is even more loaded for next year.

The 27-year-old Cousins has compiled career averages of 21.2 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. He has also made four All-Star Games and a pair of All-NBA teams.
