As if the Denver Broncos didn't have enough issues to deal with. Now their backup quarterback Chad Kelly is getting arrested.
Kelly, who has had his share of off-field issues in the past, was arrested early this morning in Englewood, Colorado. He was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported the news.
If the charge sounds serious, well, the alleged details aren't great. According to a press release from the Englewood PD, officers responded to a call about a man standing outside of a residence. When they arrived, they were told the man was now inside.
The man was chased out of the apartment by its occupant, and was then found a short time later by police searching the area. It was Kelly.
We're awaiting further details to see what the nature of Kelly's presence in the apartment might have been. We'll keep you updated.
Kelly was a seventh-round pick of the Broncos in 2017 out of Ole Miss. He has yet to throw an NFL pass.
