The Cowboys have opened their 2018 NFL regular season, kicking off against the Panthers in Carolina. It's the first regular season of the post-Dez Bryant era for the Dallas franchise.

Bryant, of course, was released by the Cowboys earlier this offseason. He has yet to be signed by another NFL team.

The star wide receiver says he's waiting on the right opportunity. Bryant has been linked to teams like the Browns, Patriots and Jaguars, among others, but he's choosing to be patient.

Today, he's doing what NFL fans across the country are doing - watching games from home.

Bryant is currently watching his former team take on the Panthers. He's live tweeting it, too.

Carolina's quarterback, Cam Newton, has had a couple of really nice runs so far. Bryant was impressed.

"Damn Cam!" he tweeted.

Bryant was complimentary of the Cowboys, too. Dallas' defense got a strip near the goal line to give the ball back to their offense. "Good strip Ross," he tweeted.

Of course, fans are reacting to what Dez is doing, and some have been critical of his praise of Newton.

"People are stupid lol I’m not on either side..I love the game of football" Bryant tweeted in response.

The Cowboys and the Panthers, meanwhile, are playing on FOX. It's 0-0 with 4:50 left.
