We have a much clearer picture for the 2018-19 men's college basketball season now that the NBA Draft deadline for underclassmen has come and gone. Between now and the start of the year, there's likely not going to be a ton that changes.
So, preseason top 25s and way-too-early predictions are being updated by fans and analysts across the country.
Everyone's favorite analyst, Dick Vitale, recently revealed who he'll be voting for for preseason No. 1. It's a team out of the Big 12.
The ESPN college basketball analyst says he'll be going with Kansas.
"The VBDI ( vitale bald dome index ) will have ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK # 1" Vitale tweeted.
Vick did withdraw his name from the NBA Draft, but it's actually looking like he won't be playing for Kansas. His head coach, Bill Self, told ESPN that he didn't plan on having him back for the 2018-19 season, even though he had withdrawn from the draft.
“The talk we had at the end of the season would be that he would go somewhere else if he decided to stay in school. That was something we talked about. We kind of agreed on that,” Self told ESPN.
It's unclear why that is, but it doesn't sound like Vick will be a part of KU's 2018-19 team.
Still, the Jayhawks are going to be loaded and a popular preseason No. 1 pick. Kansas brings in multiple five-star recruits and has some extreme talent coming back.
