A statement by Lonzo Ball about college basketball went viral over the weekend. The statement had to do with players being paid.
The former UCLA star, who spent one season in college, said everyone knows that basically everyone is getting money.
"Everybody knows everybody's getting paid," Ball said. "That's just how it is. Everybody's getting paid anyway, you might as well make it legal. That's how I feel."
Ball clarified that he himself did not get paid. His dad wouldn't allow it.
"My dad wasn't big on that," Ball said. "We just focused on going there and getting out."
This comment is not sitting well with Dick Vitale. The ESPN college basketball analyst took to Twitter to clap back at the former UCLA star.
"This is ABSURD," Vitale wrote. "Do not INDICT ALL !"
Vitale has been extremely vocal about the state of college basketball since ESPN and Yahoo! Sports' reports dropped.
The ESPN college basketball analyst is calling for Arizona head coach Sean Miller to be fired. He also believes there needs to be some serious change in the sport.
At the same time, he continues to ride for coaches like Rick Pitino, saying they were treated unfairly. Vitale has been criticized a lot for some of his alleged biases throughout the weekend.
