Dick Vitale Releases His Picks For Every Sweet 16 Game

This year, no one has been immune to their brackets imploding, including top college basketball analysts.

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale took Michigan State to beat Virginia to win the NCAA Tournament this year. Both of those teams didn't even reach the Sweet 16.

This tournament has seen a lot of wild upsets, leaving only two No. 1 seeds and two No. 2 seeds left to compete for a national title.

Here's how Vitale would re-seed the top six remaining teams:

While you probably can't trust anyone's predictions this year, here are the teams Vitale has reaching the Elite Eight.

Starting with the South region, Dickie V. has No. 5 Kentucky topping No. 9 Kansas State and he likes No. 7 Nevada's ability to come back so he's going with the Wolf Pack to beat No. 11 Loyola-Chicago.

As for the West, Vitale is going with No. 4 Gonzaga and its "winners mentality" over No. 9 Florida State. He's also picking No. 3 Michigan over No. 7 Texas A & M, because he likes the Wolverines' ability to always find ways to win.

In the East, he thinks Villanova-West Virginia will be a defensive battle, but he's giving the No. 1 Wildcats the edge over No. 5 Mountaineers because of Nova's shooting and solid starting five. Despite the absence of Isaac Haas, Vitale believes No. 2 Purdue's three-point shot will propel the Boilermakers past No. 3 Texas A&M.

And finally, in the Midwest, Vitale is going with No.1 Kansas over No. 5 Clemson. As for the other match-up in the region, Vitale thinks No. 2 Duke has the best starting five in the country so he's taking the Blue Devils over No. 11 Syracuse.

Vitale's social game is pretty awesome, baby! Good for him. Whether his pick game is strong as well... is yet to be seen.

The Sweet 16 gets underway on Thursday with Loyola-Chicago taking on Nevada at 7:07 pm on CBS.
