Two weeks ago, one of the best young running backs in college football found himself in some legal trouble. According to a report from KU, Kansas running back Pooka Williams was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of domestic battery.

In the weeks following his arrest, new Kansas head coach Les Miles suspended Williams from team activities.

On Thursday afternoon, details of his alleged incident with his former girlfriend were released. According to a report from the Kansas City Star, the woman alleges Williams punched her in the stomach.

Here are more details from the report:

According to the affidavit, a KU police officer interviewed the 18-year-old alleged victim at around 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 6. The female stated “she was punched in the stomach, as well as grabbed by the throat” by Williams at Stouffer Apartments on campus the previous day.

Williams remains indefinitely suspended from the Kansas football program and has a court date set for January 9.

The star running back was the Big 12 offensive freshman of the year.
