President Trump has been active on Twitter the past few days, but most of his tweets have been directed at either Hillary Clinton or Omarosa Manigault. Monday morning, he took a break from politics to congratulate PGA Championship winner Brooks Koepka on his victory Sunday.
Trump, who golfs a great deal and owns numerous courses around the world, praised both Koepka's his physical play and his mental toughness. He also predicted that Koepka will win many more majors in his time on the PGA Tour.
Trump has been known to be friendly with a number of players on tour, including Tiger Woods. It's unclear if he has any relationship with Koepka.
Koepka has won three majors in the past two years. At just the age of 28, he's one of the best young players in the game.
Koepka's political affiliation is also unclear. It's unknown whether he voted for Trump in the 2016 election.
Koepka finished this year's PGA Championship 16 strokes under par - two shots ahead of Woods, who was chasing his 15th major. He also held off Adam Scott down the stretch.
It'll be interesting to see if Koepka responds. A number of athletes, including LeBron James and Steph Curry, have had no interest in speaking with or meeting the president after major athletic accomplishments. Koepka will have a decision to make.
