Donald Trump has weighed in on the national anthem protests in the NFL.
President Donald Trump held a rally for Alabama Senator Luther Strange in Huntsville on Friday night and per usual, he covered a number of topics on his agenda. One of those topics dealt with NFL players - like former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick - protesting the national anthem.
Trump told a raucous crowd that any player who disrespects the flag should be "fired" by their NFL owner.

It's not surprising to hear Trump's stance on the matter - but the timing is a bit strange, considering most of the Kaepernick controversy occurred last season.
The NFL has not yet responded to Trump's statement.
