Here’s what the president thinks should’ve happened to the quarterback.
Donald Trump spoke to Fox News’ Sean Hannity about the NFL’s national anthem issue tonight.
During his conversation, he revealed what he thinks should’ve happened to Colin Kaepernick when he first began kneeling for the national anthem last season.
Kaepernick, who’s now out of the league, should’ve been suspended when he first kneeled, according to Trump.
“I watched Colin Kaepernick and I thought it was terrible. And then it got bigger and bigger and started mushrooming,” Trump said. “And frankly, the NFL should have suspended him for one game and he would have never done it again,” Trump continued. “They could have then suspended him for two games and they could have suspended him if he did it a third time, for the season, and you would never have had a problem.
“But I will tell you — you cannot disrespect our country, our flag, our anthem, you cannot do that.”

Trump had previously said that he thinks the “sons of bitches” who kneel deserve to be suspended or kicked out of the league.
