Donald Trump’s Dwyane Wade tweet has lit the Internet on fire.
Friday afternoon, a cousin of Chicago Bulls superstar Dwyane Wade named Nykea Aldridge was shot and killed as she walked her baby down the street in Chicago. Aldridge was not an intended target in the shooting – she was caught in the crossfire between two armed men who were shooting at a third man. Wade tweeted about the incident Friday night, calling it another “senseless act” of gun violence.
Saturday morning, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted about the news. After acknowledging it, he enthusiastically added that African-Americans will vote for him because of this kind of violence.
It didn’t take long for the Internet to attack. People are criticizing Trump for his enthusiasm on the subject and questioning the correlation between the two ideas.
Dwayne Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!

That's an honest question, @realDonaldTrump: what is wrong with you? You say Clinton just sees black people as votes. What did you just do?

I wonder if @realDonaldTrump has even the slightest conception of the horrible thing he's done today.

@realDonaldTrump This is so disrespectful.

It’s true that anything Trump tweets is going to be criticized one way or another. But the response here was far angrier than what he usually deals with.
What do you think? Is Trump’s tweet insensitive? Or is this just par for the course when it comes to the presidential race?
