One of the top recruits from the 2021 class announced major news today, as Donell Harris trimmed his list of suitors down to five programs.
Harris is the No. 4 overall recruit and No. 1 defensive end from his class, per 247Sports. He’s currently ranked as a four-star prospect, but he could earn his fifth star in the future.
Back in June, Harris announced that he was decommitting from Miami. It was a major blow for Manny Diaz and the Hurricanes, especially since he’d been the foundational piece of their 2021 class.
With his recruitment open once again, Harris announced his top five on Twitter. He is now considering Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M.
Despite originally giving his commitment to Miami, the Florida native is no longer even considering the program.
Here is his official announcement from Twitter:

It’s probably too early to project when Harris will make his decision. However, it’s safe to say he’s interested in playing for one of the elite schools in the SEC.
Although most programs are currently putting the finishing touches on their 2020 recruiting class, it wouldn’t hurt to get an early jump on Harris for the following year.
Expect all these SEC powerhouses to battle it out for Harris’ commitment.
