Edwin Encarnacion Suffers Ugly Ankle Injury In Game 2 vs. Yankees

Edwin Encarnacion suffers brutal ankle injury.

We've got what appears to be another serious injury in a Major League Baseball playoff game.

Just one day after Boston Red Sox DH Eduardo Nunez had to be carried off the field after suffering a knee injury against the Houston Astros, we might have another serious injury in a Major League Baseball Playoff game.

Cleveland Indians DH Edwin Encarnacion, in order to avoid being doubled up on a soft fly ball hit to Didi Gregorius, lunged back to second base. But his foot got stuck on the side of the bag, and his ankle snapped.

Video is gross - beware:

Encarnacion had to be helped off the field. It seems obvious that he won't return to the game.

The Yankees and Indians are tied 2-2 in the second inning. Let's hope Encarnacion winds up okay.
