ESPN Is Reportedly Targeting Charissa Thompson To Be Mike Greenberg's New Partner

ESPN is reportedly "targeting" Charissa Thompson to be Mike Greenberg's new partner.

Mike & Mike are splitting up in just a few months, and while Mike Golic's new radio show - Golic & Wingo - has been announced by the network, some of the details on Mike Greenberg's new television show have yet to be figured out. The biggest question - who will partner with Greenberg?

Sporting News is reporting Tuesday that FOX Sports host Charissa Thompson is being "targeted" by the Worldwide Leader.

Thompson, who once worked for ESPN on both SportsNation and Numbers Never Lie, currently serves as a host for FOX's NFL coverage and the entertainment show Extra.

Sporting News reports that nothing is official.

ESPN has been interested in Thompson for months. There were some back-channel talks earlier this year about bringing her back to Bristol from Los Angeles to succeed Chris Berman as host of "Sunday NFL Countdown." That gig later went to Samantha Ponder of "College Gameday."

Thompson has not commented on the report.

Greenberg's new show is set to debut in January of 2018.
