College football season doesn't kick off for another four months, but it's never too early to start looking at some predictions for the biggest games of the season. ESPN, which updated its FPI rankings last week, has projections for every single college football game of the season. Let's take a look at Ohio State vs. Michigan, which is set to take place on November 24.
Predictably, the Buckeyes are expected to emerge victorious. Ohio State is given a 68.1% chance to beat Michigan. It helps that OSU will be playing at home, but it's clear that ESPN thinks the Buckeyes are the better squad. Ohio State is also ranked higher in FPI. The Buckeyes check in at No. 4, while the Wolverines check in at No. 11.
Here's a look at ESPN's "Matchup Predictor" for the contest.
If the Buckeyes were to prevail, it would be their seventh straight win over Michigan. The last Wolverines victory came back in 2011.
All that said, Michigan still leads the all-time series, 58-49-6. Ohio State leads the series 49-46-4 in Big Ten meetings.
Both teams will feature new quarterbacks in 2018. Both J.T. Barrett and John O'Korn were seniors on last season's squad.
This year's contest will take place on November 24.
