ESPN Signs Scott Van Pelt To Multi-year Extension

It appears Van Pelt will remain at ESPN for the foreseeable future.

ESPN and on-air talent Scott Van Pelt have agreed to a multi-year extension according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Van Pelt, the host of the midnight edition of SportsCenter, has been one of ESPN's best-known personalities and a mainstay since joining the company in 2001.

“We’re delighted that Scott Van Pelt will remain with ESPN for years to come," ESPN VP of production Norby Williams said, per Hollywood Reporter. "Scott and his team have created something very special with the midnight SportsCenter and fans have responded. His style and perspective make for a unique fan experience across ESPN platforms.”

Van Pelt's show has routinely drawn some of the strongest ratings for its time slot among males ages 18-34, averaging 181,000 viewers per broadcast.
