ESPN: These Are The Only Teams That Can Still Make The CFB Playoff

The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday. Right now, it looks like the top four is pretty much set.

Barring an upset by Florida State or Navy this weekend, the first four will be Alabama, Clemson, LSU and Notre Dame. Those rankings will undoubtedly change after Nov. 3, when Alabama and LSU play each other.

While only four teams can make the playoff field, there are a bunch more with a shot at getting in, as of now. How many exactly?

Well, ESPN's playoff Eliminator says 15 teams have a chance right now. Yup, that's right.

The teams are as follows:

  • Alabama
  • Clemson
  • Notre Dame
  • Georgia
  • Michigan
  • Oklahoma
  • Ohio State
  • LSU
  • Florida
  • Iowa
  • West Virginia
  • Texas
  • Washington State
  • Kentucky
  • Texas A&M

Of course, once you get past the top nine or so, the chances decrease exponentially. However, those teams at the bottom can still cling to some hope.
