ESPN's Getting Crushed For Laying Off Sara Walsh After Maternity Leave

People are not happy.

Sara Walsh, a popular SportsCenter anchor, was set to return to work at ESPN today.

The husband of minor league pitcher Matt Walsh had been off for a month-plus on maternity leave. She and her husband had adorable twins.

Unfortunately, Walsh will not be returning to ESPN today. She was informed she was part of the company's massive layoffs that hit last week. "I was truly excited to return to work today from maternity leave with the twins," she wrote. "Unfortunately, I will not be coming back as I was included in the recent layoffs. Much appreciation to those I worked with, and especially those who watched." Walsh revealed the news on Twitter.

ESPN's layoffs are brutal for everyone involved, but they seem especially brutal for a mother who was about to return to work after giving birth to twins.

Our thoughts are with Walsh and her family.
