ESPN's Sage Steele Tweets At Mike Evans For National Anthem Protest

Sage Steele speaks on ESPN.

An ESPN anchor tweeted at Mike Evans regarding his national anthem protest.

Mike Evans kneeled during the national anthem prior to Tampa Bay's game against Chicago. He said after the game that it had to do with Donald Trump being elected president.

From ESPN:

“I don’t want to, you know, disrespect the veterans or anything,” Evans said. “The men and women who serve this country, I’m forever indebted to them. But the things that’s been going on in America lately, I’m not going to stand for that. When Ashton Kutcher comes out and says we’ve been punked, then I’ll stand again. But I won’t stand anymore.”

Evans has taken some criticism for his protest, and it has later come out that he didn't actually vote in the election.

ESPN anchor Sage Steele tweeted the following at Evans Sunday night.

Steele was at Arlington National Ceremony on Friday, interviewing her father, a veteran.

Evans said he will continue the protest as long as Trump is president.
