Ezekiel Elliott has had a rough first half in today's Cowboys-Seahawks game in Seattle. Dallas' star running back just made a brutal mistake that costed his team a touchdown.

Elliott appeared to catch a long touchdown pass from Dak Prescott late in the second quarter, but the play ended up getting called back.

The Cowboys' star running back had his right foot out of bounds before he caught the pass.

It was a brutal mistake, as it forced the Cowboys to kick a field goal, cutting the Seahawks' lead instead of tying the game.

"Ezekiel Elliott's right foot was out of bounds before he caught pass, so loss of down on penalty. Brett Maher makes 50-yard field goal afterward ... Seahawks now lead, 7-3, with 5:26 to go in second quarter."

Elliott has made a couple of tough mistakes already this afternoon. "The Cowboys want to use Ezekiel Elliott more in the passing game but so far today he has a drop and stepped out of bounds, negating a 31-yard touchdown pass by Dak Prescott. There has to be more awareness," ESPN's Todd Archer tweeted.

The Cowboys trail the Seahawks, 7-3, late in the second quarter.

Elliott 9 carries for 51 yards. The game is on FOX.
