Punters are people, too. In college football, punters can matter a lot. Just ask former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, who might think the punt is the most-important play in the game.

Purdue's punting game got a lot better today.

Brooks Cormier, a five-star punter and a top-five player at his position, has announced his commitment to the Boilermakers.

The elite special teamer announced his commitment on Twitter.

"Officially committed to Purdue University!!!" he wrote.

You can view the full commitment announcement below:

Kohl's Kicking is extremely high on Cormier:

"Cromier has the prototypical size and frame to be an outstanding college punter. His athletic build and raw power make him a D1 recruit. His technical improvement has been impressive this spring. Cormier is someone with rare leg talent. His "A" ball might be the biggest in the 2019 class. Cormier was able to hit multiple 65 yard punts during the drill work period in May 2018 at the Southern Showcase Camp. His leg speed and overall upside are very rare. If he works at the technical aspects of punting, he will be a special player."

It's a big get for Purdue's 2019 class.
