Floyd Mayweather Had A Friend Place An $87K Bet On Him Winning
The boxer was able to place a bet on himself.
Floyd Mayweather attempted to place a $400K bet on himself beating Conor McGregor in under 9.5 rounds, but the Las Vegas sportsbook didn't allow it.
The gaming commission doesn't have any rules against a fighter betting on himself, but the sportsbook didn't take it because it thought Mayweather, the fight's promoter, could be setting something up.
Mayweather was still able to get a bet in on himself, though.
The 50-0 boxer told SportsCenter late Saturday night that he had a friend place an $87K bet on himself winning in under 9.5 rounds. Mayweather won via a TKO less than a minute and a half into the 10th round, so the bet will cash.
Mayweather is expected to earn more than $250 million for the fight when it's all said and done.
