Today is the final day of competition at The Open at Carnoustie. Italian Francesco Molinari is in contention.

The 35-year-old golfer from Turin is currently in a three-way tie for third place at -6 for the weekend. He, Jordan Spieth and Kevin Kisner are trailing the co-leaders, Tiger Woods and Xander Schauffele.

Molinari has eight total wins to his resume as a professional, but he's never won a major. His best finish was a tie for second at last year's PGA Championship.

One of Molinari's biggest supporters is his wife of 11 years, Valentina. The couple have two children together as well.

If Molinari wins The Open, we'll likely get a shot of him celebrating with his wife.

A lot of people out there are rooting for Tiger Woods to win his first major in a decade this weekend. But if he falters, Molinari might be there to clean up.

It should be a fun Sunday at Carnoustie.
