Gabriella Papadakis, a 22-year-old ice dancer from France, went through everyone's worst nightmare at the Winter Olympics. She had a wardrobe malfunction.
The ice dancer's shirt came undone during her routine with partner Guillaume Cizeron. The malfunction left her breast exposed.
Papadakis was rightfully horrified by what happened. It occurred moments into her routine.
“It was my worst nightmare happening at the Olympics,” Papadakis said. “It happened in the first few seconds [of the routine]. I told myself I didn’t have a choice; I have to keep going.”
The couple had points docked from their score because of it. This aggravted the skating couple.
"It is just frustrating to miss a few points because of a costume issue,” Cizeron said. “It is not what we get ready for when we train. I am still proud that we managed to pull out a program like that even with a difficulty like this."
The couple tried to power through the routine. They did so with class.
"It was pretty distracting," Papadakis told reporters. "My worst nightmare at the Olympics. I told myself 'you have to keep going.'
"That's what we did, and we have to be proud of ourselves, delivering a great performance with that happening."
