Genie Bouchard Reveals Her Dating Status After Twitter Romance

The best Twitter romance story of the last year featured women's tennis star Genie Bouchard. The 23-year-old Canadian went out with a guy who made a Super Bowl bet with her on Twitter.
Bouchard agreed to actually go on the date after the Patriots came back against the Falcons last year. She and the guy, a Missouri student named John Goehrke, went to a Brooklyn Nets game. They appeared to have a good time.
Since then, it looked like they went on a couple of more dates. They were recently together at this year's Super Bowl.
"A year later, we made it," Bouchard wrote on Instagram. She added a #SuperBowlDate hashtag.
Unfortunately for John, though, it doesn't look like this romance is serious. Bouchard has announced her dating status. She's single.
"So I’m discovering Valentine’s Day is a lot less fun when you’re single. Trying to counter all these couple posts with a highly single post," she wrote today.
This is tough luck for John. Just a couple of months ago, they were cuddling on the couch together.
"Look who came to visit me!" Bouchard wrote.
Maybe this was just a "friend" date, though. Or maybe they've had a falling apart.
Either way, we'd like to know the answer to what happened here. The Twitter world deserves it.
