The games have been postponed until next weekend.

The Georgia High School Association has canceled all of today's scheduled football state championship games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga due to inclement weather and unsafe road conditions.

The games will instead be played next weekend, though unfortunately not at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. According to AJC.com, six of the eight total championship games have been postponed, and those six matchups will subsequently take place at the schools of the higher-seeded teams. It's a tough break for those kids, as they were probably pretty pumped to play in the new stadium, and parents, players and fans alike were not happy with the news. Apparently some had already arrived in Atlanta and had to turn back.

Hopefully the games really did warrant postponements, otherwise it's not a great look.
