German Soccer Team's Bus Reportedly Hit By Explosion En Route To Match (Updated)

A German professional soccer team had a scary experience today.

Earlier: Borussia Dortmund is a franchise in Germany's Bundesliga, the country's top soccer league. Today, the squad was on its way to a Champions League quarterfinal match against Monaco when an explosion occurred near the team's bus.

Here's a tweet from the official team account.

Apparently, Marc Bartra, one of the team's defenders, was injured in the explosion and taken to the hospital.

Per the Borussia Dortmund Twitter, there is no cause for concern for fans attending the match, but the game may ultimately be rescheduled.

Obviously, this is a terrifying situation. The safety of the players and fans is paramount to any game being played. Also, our best wishes are with Barta, who hopefully was not seriously hurt in the incident. We will update you with any further information as it comes out.
