Jim Boeheim might run the best zone defense in all of college hoops, but a gameshow contestant proved to be pretty effective running another type of zone. Let’s just say she brutally shut down all of her opponent’s offensive advances.
Jessie and Steve were competing on Let’s Make A Deal Friday and at one point, host Wayne Brady asks if the pair is a couple.
Steve feels pretty confident answering that the pair has been together for about six months – so not quite Instagram official but going steady for sure. Hooray for Steve. Little did Steve know he was about to enter a parallel universe known as the Friend Zone on national television. From the sounds of it, the poor guy had been relegated to the Friend Zone from the start.
Suspiciously right on cue, Jessie simultaneously howls with laughter at the prospect of anything other than a strictly platonic relationship with Steve, clarifying “We’re really good friends.”
She’d deliver the death blow to his ego moments later, exclaiming “I’m single and looking to mingle, guys!”
While this clip seems too brutal to be real, even if it is staged – it’s pretty cringe-inducing.
If you see a guy that looks like he’s dressed to start playing a Bon Iver song on an electric accordion and he’s drinking away his sorrows mid-morning while asking the bartender to turn off the Price is Right on the small television mounted in the corner – that’s probably Steve. Be kind to Steve. Buy Steve a beer.
