Floyd Mayweather reportedly owes the IRS quite a bit of money.
If you've been paying attention to the "news" conferences for Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor this week, you've no doubt heard McGregor making fun of Mayweather's tax problem. Just how bad is it, you ask?
Well, according to the Associated Press, Mayweather owes money from two different years - 2010 and 2015. Mayweather owes $7.2 million for 2010 and a whopping $22.2 million for 2015. In total - $29.4 million.
Mayweather has earned over $700 million during his boxing career, which makes the news a bit baffling. He also calls his brand 'The Money Team' - for what it's worth.
Mayweather will earn at least $100 million for the McGregor fight, so we can assume he'll be fine. But with his career winding down, he might want to figure out a way to keep the IRS at bay.
