Hope Solo Tweets In Response To "Cowards" Comment, "Losing Sucks"

Hope Solo has been getting criticized for her post-game comments following the United States' loss to Sweden earlier today. Following the penalty kicks' defeat that eliminated the U.S. from potentially winning a medal, the American goalie called the Swedes "cowards." She said the "better team" did not win.

Hope Solo has issued a tweet in response to her statement, linking to her full quote tweeted out by Grant Wahl.

"This was the full context of my comments today," she wrote. "Thank you Grant Wahl. Losing sucks. I'm really bad at it."

This was Solo's full quote following the loss. She was not happy with Sweden's conservative style of play. "They didn't want to open play. They didn't want to pass the ball. They didn't want to play great soccer," she said.

Solo then issued another statement to Wahl.

She's not exactly apologizing for anything here. Solo has been getting slammed for her comments.
