The Jacksonville Shark Photo From Hurricane Matthew Is Fake

This photo being shared online about a shark being in the streets of Jacksonville during Hurricane Matthew is fake. It is most definitely not from Jacksonville.

There is a photo resurfacing on social media of a shark being in the streets of Jacksonville as Hurricane Matthew makes its impact on the area.

This photo has never been verified as either real or completely fake. One thing is for certain, however, and that is that the photo first surfaced during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

This video however seems to be very real as Hurricane Matthew has caused major flooding and damage at Jacksonville Beach:

The video is pretty mind-blowing to take in. If you've ever been to any beach with sand dunes you would never imagine the water actually getting that high up the beach, but this video defies that idea.

Hurricane Matthew was downgraded to a Category 3 hurricane with winds up to 120 mph at 2:00 a.m. EST on Thursday. The hurricane continues to push up the East Coast and it has been reported that at least 1 million people are without power at this time.
