Melvin Gordon did not play in last week’s game for the Los Angeles Chargers due to injury. It doesn’t look like he’ll make his return this week either.
Gordon missed a second day of practice on Thursday. He is dealing with a sprained MCL, which he suffered in a Week 12 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Originally, there was some optimism he might return this week, but it looks like that won’t be the case.

Austin Ekeler, one of Gordon’s backups, was a full participant at practice for a second-straight day. Ekeler and Justin Jackson should split touches if Gordon can’t go.
This season, Gordon has rushed for 802 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 44 receptions for 453 yards and four touchdowns.
His 13 total touchdowns are already a career-high, topping his previous high of 12, which he reached in 2016 and 2017.
The Chargers will take on the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday in Week 14.
